Haringey Law Centre can assist people with their legal housing problems this includes:

• Helping people who have received a section 21 eviction notice, a court possession order or bailiffs letter informing them that they are going to be evicted from their homes;
• Helping people who are being or have been illegally evicted from their homes;
• Helping people living in overcrowded housing to try and move to suitable accommodation;
• Helping people living in bad housing conditions to force the property’s owner to carry out repairs;
• Helping people whose landlord won’t return their deposit.

Working in partnership with Hackney Community Law Centre, Haringey Law Centre can now open housing cases under legal aid. As solicitors with ‘rights of audience’ in the courts, Haringey Law Centre is able to represent Haringey residents in the county court, High Court, Court of Appeal and the UK Supreme Court if required. Under legal aid, we are also able to instruct barristers to represent our clients at their court hearings if we assess that a barrister is required.
